Dental Checkups & Teeth Cleanings

Your entire experience with us will begin with a thorough and refreshing checkup and cleaning. With just two of these each year (or every six months), we’ll be able to stop many dental problems before they even start!

With a checkup (also known as an oral exam), Dr. Crary will take the time to learn all she can about your dental health so she can formulate a personalized treatment plan to meet your unique needs. After that, a cleaning from one of our hygienists will remove any plaque and tartar that has built up on your teeth and give them a nice polish at the end for good measure!

Children’s Dentistry

We just love serving Stuart’s littlest smiles! Early-age dental appointments are absolutely essential to making sure your child’s smile gets off to a strong start, and we’re more than ready to handle that responsibility. Our entire office has years of experience with children (Dr. Crary is a mother herself), so we’ll know exactly how to take care of their teeth and ensure they have fun, comfortable appointments every time.

Dental Sealants

The back teeth tend to be the most susceptible to developing cavities because their rough surfaces are prone to trap food particles and plaque and are rather difficult to brush, especially for young children. To give these teeth a little bit of extra protection, we can use what is called a dental sealant. This is a thin, clear layer of a plastic-based substance that is applied directly to the teeth to establish an invisible barrier that plaque, acids, and food particles cannot penetrate, effectively safeguarding the teeth from both decay and cavities.

Clear nightguard on metal tray

Nightguards for Bruxism

Bruxism is a very common condition where a person unconsciously clenches their jaw and grinds their teeth while they sleep. Over time, this can wear down the teeth, make them more sensitive, and eventually cause them to break! If this is a problem for you, then we may recommend that you wear something called a nightguard to bed. It will place a comfortable protective barrier between your teeth so they are safe from grinding during the night.

Child placing sports mouthguard

Mouthguards & Sportsguards

Dental injuries are actually one of the most common types of sports injuries, so if you or your child regularly hit the field, mat, or court, make sure you do so with a protective mouthguard. We can provide you with a custom-made guard that will be much stronger and more comfortable than anything you can buy at the store. You’ll be able to speak and breathe much more easily, and you can have the peace of mind that your smile is fully protected.

Woman receiving oral cancer screening

Oral Cancer Screening

Early detection is absolutely essential to the successful treatment of oral cancer, which is exactly why Dr. Crary recommends that everyone should have at least one oral cancer screening per year. They will perform one as part of your regular checkups to make things nice and easy. It only takes a couple of minutes, but it’s literally the couple of minutes that could save your life.

Child receiving fluoride treatment

Fluoride Treatment

Children and adults alike benefit from fluoride’s teeth strengthening properties every day. You’ll most often find it in toothpastes and public water sources, but to make sure your family’s smiles stay extra-strong between appointments, we can provide you with a topical fluoride treatment at your regular checkups. It only takes a few minutes, is completely painless, and it’s one of the best ways we can keep your family cavity-free year round.
